About Us

The Pilot Racing team is an organization in which students collectively design, fabricate, and race off road Baja vehicles. Even though the organization is a part of the Society of Automotive Engineers the team is made up of students with many different backgrounds. That said you do not have to be an engineer to join the team and all skills to complete the project may be learned from fellow team members throughout the year.

The team is always looking to expand and share our experience with others. If you’d like to join the team, contact an existing team member, faculty advisor, or simply come by the engineering shop.

University of Portland Pilots Racing finished 32nd out of 99 teams in the overall category at the 2009 SAE Baja Competition at Washougal, Washington May 8-10, 2009. Complete results can be found here.
