Information:
Tau Beta Pi is the Engineering National Honor
Society. The organization seeks to recognize those engineers who have shown
exemplary academic devotion and outstanding character in their undergraduate
studies, or as alumni in the field of engineering. Membership is a mark of
distinguished honor within the engineering community.
To be eligible for induction into Tau Beta Pi, an
engineering student must be among the top eight of their junior class, or the
top fifth of their senior class. They are then further evaluated on the basis
of character, integrity, breadth of interest, and unselfish activities.
The Oregon Gamma Chapter is based out of the
University of Portland Shiley School Of Engineering and was incorporated in
2002. The Chapter has been proudly serving the UP community with a breadth of
programs such as a free tutoring service, professional development seminars,
and student activities. The Officers for the 2012 to 2013 school year are as
